ThisvsThat Makes News
On June 7th, 2011, 100 people participated in a first of its kind experiment to determine the fastest way to board passengers onto a plane. Dr. Jason Steffen, an astro-physicist from Chicago’s famed Fermi Lab joined the ThisvsThat team to supervise this unique endeavor. In 2008, Dr. Steffen proposed an optimal boarding method that would reduce by 40% the time it takes to board passengers onto a plane. Not only would this improve passenger experience, it would save the airline industry more than a billion dollars. The results of Dr. Steffen’s computer simulation garnered headlines around the world. Did this first of its kind real world trial with real people boarding a plane authenticate his results, or cast them in doubt? Stay tuned… the results will be revealed when ThisvsThat premieres this August.
A special thanks to Dr. Jason Steffen for his participation, to our fantastic and hilarious hosts, Mark DeCarlo, Chris Tallman and Brad Sherwood and to the ThisvsThat staff.
